Now I've already talked My Immortal to death, but have I ever mentioned Twist and Shout? It's an absolutely fantastic Supernatural AU fic that tells a beautiful love story between (who else?) Dean and Cas. I read it in its entirety ages ago and, yes, I cried. Fanfiction runs the spectrum from beginner work all the way to professional-level novels; the same goes for other kinds of media! I've seen adorable stick figures and memes, and I've seen photorealistic paintings of my favorite characters (check out @eliciadonze on Twitter!). I've listened to intentionally ridiculous fandom songs (thehobbitsthehobbitsthehobbitsthehobbits) and really beautiful full-orchestra compositions. To me, it just shows the sheer variety available in the fan media world. What's a piece of fan media - it can be writing, music, art, whatever - that's either the best of the best or the worst of the worst? Do you have a favorite fan artist?

Were you part of the Mishapocolypse? Did you count down Unus Annus? Were you into Twilight when Breaking Dawn Part 2 came out? Fandom events are weird and wonderful, and no two are alike! I personally have been a part of several fun fandom events. I went to Atlantale, was a part of the Night Watch, theorized with the best before and during Who Killed Markiplier, went to the midnight release of Cursed Child, and was around for the Percy Jackson movie catastrophe (*shiver*). Each one was an experience I'd never trade, and I'd love to know what your favorite fandom memories are! What are the strangest things you've seen or done as a part of the fandom?
