In a time during which nothing else is certain, you would think that the marked passing of time in the form of annual holidays would bring relief from the endless uncomfortable monotony of a time when we don't know what tomorrow will bring. I suppose in a way it does, but when we're isolated from each other like this, it also brings a wave of loneliness and nostalgia for what was and what we dream will be again in the future.
While it may not be perfect, I'm glad at least that the holidays have finally arrived. I needed desperately for this year to end, and I'm sure many others have felt the same way. I hope that this holiday season, you and your loved ones are safe, that you can somehow still find joy in it, and that you are able to come into this new year with hope.
